![]() ![]() Testing the IPv4 loopback is shown in the figure. Occasionally our DHCP server chokes and stops assigning VLAN1 IP addresses to desktop PCs and when this happens, the PCs start getting assigned VLAN2 IP addresses by our phone system and no one can connect to anything until I fix DHCP and they reboot. To perform this test, we ping the local loopback address of 127.0.0.1 for IPv4 (::1 for IPv6).
